Uber has become the transport method of choice for many Australians – and who could blame them? It's a cost-effective means of travelling from A to B, and with an increasing number of drivers, it's often more convenient than other modes of transport.
And it's not just consumers who are recognising the benefits. In Melbourne and Sydney alone, there are more than 2,250 drivers – a number that is expected to grow even further. Speaking to ABC on July 25, 2015, Uber Strategist David Plouffe revealed that another 20,000 are likely to be added to the list, a target the company is well on the way towards achieving.
It's important that your car is looking its best.
With so much demand for Uber, it makes sense for drivers to protect their vehicles in whatever way possible. General wear and tear can soon start to take its toll, which is why you might want to take a closer look at internal car accessories such as floor mats.
Why floor mats?
There are many different types of car accessory for you to choose from, but not all of them will be as functional as the floor mat. Available in carpet and rubber, these protect the floor of your Uber car in both the back and front.
It's important that your car is looking its best, especially if you're planning to transport passengers. There's also the added need to protect your investment – the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) points out that a vehicle is one of the most expensive purchases a person can make, so it's logical to keep it in top condition.
ABS figures show that of the 1.7 million households who'd bought a vehicle in the 12 months to March 2012, 58 per cent believed cost was an important factor. If you were one of them, then doing whatever possible to protect your investment is likely to be high on your agenda.
Which car mats should I choose?
Once you've decided that floor mats would bring benefits to your car, the next step is to choose a product that suits your needs. This means weighing up the various options and deciding which would make most sense for your vehicle.
Rubber tends to be harder wearing, so could, therefore, be a good option if your car is going to experience a high level of footfall. Carpeted versions, on the other hand, can be more attractive and feel more pleasant under the feet.
Whichever product you choose, make sure it's properly in place to avoid slipping, especially in the front of the car.
